Land Rover has revealed its latest bullet-proof vehicle designed to protect dignitaries, moguls and VIPs.
Called the Range Rover Sentinel, it’s been created by Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations in Warwickshire and is set to be used to safeguard the most important personnel, from company head honchos to powerful diplomats.
It promises the latest in occupant protection features to resist an IED blast while also having more power and improved all-terrain capability – just in case it has to be taken off the beaten track to escape an ambush.
You get all of this for £380,000 in the UK, Land Rover says.
The vehicle will makes its debut this week at the Home Office Security and Policing show on 5 March in Farnborough
Michael van der Sande, managing director at Land Rover SVO said: ‘The Range Rover Sentinel delivers the exceptional protection and security required by our VIP clients without compromising the superior refinement of the latest Range Rover.
‘The addition of the more powerful 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 engine and a redesigned interior ensures a heightened level of performance and occupant safety.’
Rather than debuting at this week’s Geneva Motor Show, the updated Range Rover Sentinel will instead be showcased for the first time at the Home Office Security and Policing show on 5 March at Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre.
Full vehicle specification is expected then, with prices starting from £380,000 in the UK. Land Rover did say that prices will vary depending on option preferences, though.
